IRROTATIONAL AND ROTATIONAL SOLITARY WAVES IN A CHANNEL WITH ARBITRARY CROSS SECTION.

Abstract

This report is an investigation of irrotational and rotational solitary waves in a liquid of constant density contained in a channel with arbitrary cross section. The three-dimensional aspects of these waves are studied in some detail and they are compared with the properties of the classical two-dimensional solitary wave. (Author)
