THE DEVELOPMENT OF A GAS LUBRICATED BEARING BLOWER ASSEMBLY FOR USE IN AN/TED-9 RADIO TRANSMITTER.

Abstract

Investigations of hydrodynamic gas bearings were conducted to determine the effect of geometry variations on bearing performance. The effect of motor magnetic loads on performance was also evaluated. To confirm the validity of the investigations a motor blower was designed meeting the requirements of the AN/TED-9 Radio Transmitter. The results of rig tests and qualification tests of the blower-motor assembly are presented. (Author)
