CRUSTAL STRUCTURE OF GREAT BRITAIN,

Abstract

The research aim of this project is the investigation in Great Britain of local variations in crustal structure with particular reference to granite batholiths, and the effects of such variations on the propogation of seismic energy. This investigation is to be carried out by crustal refraction explosion studies. The hardware consists of a ten channel seismometer array with digital magnetic tape recording. The prime consideration during the period of this report has been to get the equipment in the field and operational by September, 1965 in order to take advantage of a series of depth charge explosions in the Irish Sea and St. George's Channel.
