VISTAR, A PULSE DOPPLER AIRBORNE WEATHER RADAR

Abstract

The weather surveillance objectives for the VISTAR airborne weather radar are briefly described. The basic operational requirements for VISTAR are outlined and signal flow presented. Detailed system and circuit operation are given and calibration procedures noted. (Schematic drawings are not a part of this document.) Criticisms of the system are presented and recommendations given. A block diagram is included.
