ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF AN IMPROVED CIOFFI INTEGRATOR.

Abstract

The various techniques for flux measurement are summarized. The response of the ballistic galvanometer is examined in detail. The operations of R-C integrators, operational amplifiers with capacitive and inductive feedback are analyzed. The Cioffi-type integrator, which combines inductive and positive resistive feedback with operational amplification and which uses a galvanometer for the first stage of DC amplification, is analyzed in detail. The characteristics of galvanometer and amplifiers are taken into account, and general solutions for the response of the integrator obtained. The design for an improved Cioffi-type integrator with AC amplification and photocell detection of the galvanometer imbalance is described. (Author)
