FEASIBILITY OF APPLICATION OF TITANIUM TO WIRE CABLE FABRICATION.

Abstract

The state of the art for titanium alloy wire suitable for use in wire rope fabrication is reviewed. Although many activities in and out of the Navy have indicated an interest in titanium wire rope for marine applications, no such cable is commercially available. A broad development program for titanium alloy wire and wire rope is recommended. (Author)
