SOME COMMENTS ON THE ORGANIZATION OF MEN, MACHINES, AND CONCEPTS,

Abstract

Part 1 of this paper deals with abstract, cybernetic, models for the data processing activities of organisms. In such a model, an organism is regarded as reducible to minimal components that are active control systems. Several hypotheses are posed in the course of the discussion. Part 2 of the paper describes the relevant features of some experiments in the field of man-machine interaction and provides data in support of these hypotheses. (Author)
