THE ADMITTANCE AND RESONANCE PROBE CHARACTERISTICS OF A SPHERICAL PLASMA PROBE.

Abstract

A formula for the admittance of a spherical probe in a warm collisional plasma is derived. The equations for the perturbations in sheath voltage and number density at the plasma-sheath interface are related to the resonance probe phenomenon. Laboratory measurements of the resonance probe and admittance characteristics were found to agree fairly well with the theoretical calculations. (Author)
