WELDING OF POLYMER FILMS,
Abstract
In the brochure, the authors review the modern methods of welding polymer films: by contact heating, gaseous heat carriers, infrared radiation, ultrasonics, and by high frequency currents. Attention is given to the technology of welding various films. Recommendations are made on the selection of the methods of welding, on welding equipment, and optimal conditions. The material is a generalization of the studies on the technology of welding polymer materials, conducted under the supervision of L. N. Matsyuk in the period from 1958 to 1963. Certain of these studies have been widely adopted in industry. (Author)
