OPTIMIZATION OF GAIN ARBITRARY ARRAY ANTENNAS,
Abstract
A technique was developed for optimizing under certain constraints, the power transferred from an arbitrary antenna array to a receiving antenna in some spatial direction. In certain practical cases this optimization reduces to that of maximizing directive gain; in others it reduces to optimizing the so called effective gain. The optimization technique is formulated for several of these cases and is applied to three numerical examples. (Author)
