DETONATION CHARACTERISTICS OF LOW-DENSITY GRANULAR MATERIALS.

Abstract

A brief study is given of experimental and analytical research on the detonation characteristics of low-density granular materials, which was carried out with a view toward acquiring greater understanding of (1) The mechanisms of initiation of detonation, (2) The mechanisms of propagation of detonation and (3) The characteristics of initiating shocks and of the transient and steady waves.
