OPTIMUM SUBMARINE ROUTING.

Abstract

A numerical routine is developed to determine on a digital computer a route that will enable a submarine to go from one specified point to another in a specified time, with minimum probability of being detected, when the likelihood of being detected is a known function of the position, heading, speed, depth, and time. Special routines are required to handle bounds on the control variable and corners. (Author)
