MAGNETO-OPTICAL DISPLAY PANEL WITH MEMORY.

Abstract

The program is based upon Bitter solution overlays on electrodeposited NiFe magnetic films. This results in a magnetically rotatable grating on the film which can be optically interrogated. Useful and moderately efficient films were produced, electronic address, write and erase circuitry were evolved, and a coincident current writing at the required spatial density was demonstrated. A number of potential problems were recognized and future effort was planned accordingly. (Author)
