SINGULAR SOLUTIONS OF CERTAIN INTEGRAL EQUATIONS.

Abstract

A class of integral equations arising in some idealized plasma problems is discussed. While these do not have solutions in the space of square integrable functions, they do have such in an appropriate space of generalized functions. Explicit solutions are given in some special cases. It is then shown how these solutions can be used to approximate those for more general problems. (Author)
