PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF TI-6A1-4V ALLOY SUBSEQUENT TO HIGH VELOCITY DEFORMATION.

Abstract

Titanium 6A1-4V alloy was forged from cylindrical billets into cup-shape specimens at high rates of deformation within a temperature range of 1650 F to1850 F. Tensile and impact tests as well as microstructural examinations were conducted on material in both the as-forged and as-forged-plus-heat treated conditions. (Author)
