SYMPOSIUM ON THERMAL RADIATION OF SOLIDS,

Abstract

Fifty-five papers discussing significant developments in the theory of thermal radiation control of solids are presented. Nine are of interest to PLASTEC. Topics covered include: 1)the effects of surfaces, interfaces; and surface imperfections on the radiation, 2)the effects of the space environment (solar radiation) on emittance from surface coatings, 3)measurement techniques, and 4)the application of the data and information presented to the design and compounding of thermal radiation control surfaces of spacecraft.
