TEMPERATURE SENSING SYSTEM FOR MANOMETRIC THERMOMETERS,

Abstract

A temperature sensing system for manometric thermometers containing a thermal bulb and a capillary is described. To extend the upper limit of temperature measurement to 1200C an alloy containing 66.8 to 67.2% gallium, 10.3 to 10.7% indium, and 12 to 13% tin is used as a filler. The thermal bulb is made of a material that is stable to the filler at high temperatures, for example, alundum or some other ceramic or ceramet material.
