AN ANALYSIS OF INDUCED MOTION.

Abstract

Through an analysis of induced motion, the long standing concept of 'object-relative displacement' was rejected in favor of a new theory of motion perception which stresses egocentric location change. Several problems in movement perception (including simulated body movement) were evaluated in terms of this location change theory. (Author)
