A REVIEW OF RESEARCH ON THE INTERACTION OF A JET WITH AN EXTERNAL STREAM.

Abstract

A descriptive review is made of recent studies on the interaction of a jet with an external stream. Experimental data and empirical equations for the jet center line were reported. The existence of a pair of vortices in the jet flow was indicated. Further study, in order to determine the strength and location of the vortices either by acquisition of more data or by the development of the theory, is necessary. (Author)
