SPEECH RESEARCH AND INSTRUMENTATION.

Abstract

Most of the basic research presented can be divided into three major areas: (1) further studies of the acoustic features that carry speech intelligibility, (2) investigations of articulatory gestures that give rise to the acoustic cues, and (3) the development of instrumentation to make such research possible. All the work is presented as a series of articles and papers each of which is signed by the staff members who bore the primary responsibility for that aspect of the research.
