ACTIVE ARRAY TECHNIQUE.

Abstract

Two possible means of accomplishing phase coherence of signals at some point in space are discussed. These signals are radiated from separate transmitters of an array. The methods discussed are 'beam tagging' and 'phase conjugation.' These methods are discussed as to implementation and their advantages and disadvantages presented. The discussion is aimed at describing the way an array may be used in a satellite communications link. (Author)
