ON THE BEHAVIOR OF STATIONARY ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE FIELDS FOR SMALL FREQUENCIES.

Abstract

This paper contains investigations on the stationary electromagnetic field (E,H) which is generated by the reflection of a given incoming field at a finite number of simply connected perfectly conducting bodies. A method is described which allows us to discuss the behavior of the magnetic field H as the frequency tends to zero. This supplements previous investigations on the behavior of the electric field E for small frequencies. Several examples are considered in detail (frequencyindependent boundary data, reflection of electric and magnetic dipoles, reflection of fields generated by volume distributions of electric currents). Similar results are obtained for the corresponding interior boundary value problems, by applying a method which has recently been developed by R. C. MacCamy. (Author)
