LOCAL FORECASTING OF FOG FORMATION.

Abstract

After proposing an improved method for precomputing fogs on the basis of observations from a single station, the authors derive a technique for forecasting the nocturnal variation of the specific humidity, refine the means of forecasting the nocturnal minimum temperature of the atmospheric surface boundary layer, and present the results of checking the method against observational data from a number of weather stations.
