EXCITATION OR RESONANCE BY AIR FLOW (VOZBUZHDENIE REZONATOROV POTOKOM VOZDUKHA),
Abstract
The paper presents the results of an experimental investigation of the excitation of sound by an air stream blowing over the mouth of a resonator. It is shown that this excitation can be regarded as the result of resonance between the oscillations of a system of vortices, which are shed at the edges of the resonator, and the natural oscillations of the resonator.
