The broad objectives of the investigation were (a) To determine the relative degrees of fouling as influenced by the character of the surface of the ship. (b) To investigate the possibilities of stereoscopic photographic observations. (c) To define the degree of fouling by (1) The rate of growth. (2) The volume of growth per unit area.
