NOTE ON THE GENERALIZED INVERSE OF A MATRIX PRODUCT.

Abstract

Let A(+) denote the Moore-Penrose generalized inverse and A(*) the conjugate transpose of a matrix A. Several necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for (AB) (+) = B(+)A(+) (where A(+) is the Moore-Penrose inverse of A), and the structure of matrices A and B satisfying this equation is examined.
