STUDY OF THE TRANSITION OF A TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYER INTO A LAMINAR ONE,

Abstract

The results of an experimental study of the transition of a turbulent boundary layer into a laminar one at transonic velocities in various tunnels are presented. An approximate estimate is given of the effect of various factors on the nature of the turbulent-laminar transition in the boundary layer, as well as the conditions governing the initiation of such reverse transition.
