HALOGENOID COMPLEXES.

Abstract

A summary is given of work involving the chemistry of the following halogenoid or pseudo-halide ions: azide (N3(-)), selenocyanate (SeCN(-)), azidodithiocarbonate (SCSN3(-)), and cyanate (NCO(-)). The emphasis of the research was to determine to what extent the pseudo-halide ions could act as ligands in coordination complexes and the general nature of the resulting compounds. Dissociation constants were obtained for the acids HCN, HN3, HOCN, HSCN, and HSeCN. (Author)
