EXPLOSIVE OPENING OF A METAL DIAPHRAGM,

Abstract

The feasibility of using explosively opened aluminum and steel diaphragms to release the cold driver gas in the Shock Interaction Range was investigated. Diaphragms opened by extruded explosives were found feasible and a reliable system was developed for this application. (Author)
