IMPULSE OF REACTIVE FORCE OF SOLID PROPELLANT ROCKETS,

Abstract

The book is devoted to thermodynamic theory of calculating the impulse of reactive force of a solid propellant rocket. In it there is presented the thermodynamics of powder gases, thermodynamic calculation of a solid propellant rocket, methods of measurement of specific impulse and calculation of its magnitude for powders of different caloric value. Consideration is given to heat transfer in a solid propellant rocket, the influence of conditions of ignition of the propellant on the magntiude of the specific impulse, reasons for scattering of the magnitude of the specific impulse and methods of measuring this scattering, and the efflux coefficient. The book is designed for scientists and engineers, specializing in the area of rocket technology. (Soviet editor's note)
