SATELLITE RADIO COMMUNICATIONS,

Abstract

This publication on telecommunications problems presents the problems of satellite radiocommunications as seen by Polish experts, working in areas which cover or concern problems of the same type, but which are differently applied. Problems connected with the rapid rise in the demand for intercontinental telecommunication channels are presented. It is proposed that the planned undersea cable lines will not be able to ensure a sufficient number of channels thus making it necessary to look for other solutions to this problem. A general view of the proposed and planned means of achieving a technical solution for satellite links is presented. The problem of radiowave propagation is discussed in connection with the construction of satellite and ground station antennas. Selected problems on microwave transmission and reception engineering are presented. A review is made of the most important problems connected with the launching of satellites into orbit and with the stabilization of their motion. Finally, future experiments on communication facilities for Poland are described.
