STANDING WAVE MODES IN A SUPERCONDUCTING LINEAR ACCELERATOR,

Abstract

In connection with the work on the superconducting linear accelerator, various accelerator structures have been considered. Because of its simplicity a standing wave structure is extremely attractive. Accordingly, this paper is devoted to an understanding of standing wave linacs. Although the results are applicable to conventional as well as to superconducting structures, the problems studied and the sample calculations given are appropriate for superconducting structures.
