RESONANCES OF RADIO FREQUENCY PROBE IN A PLASMA.

Abstract

The RF probe experiment is carried out by the use of a low density plasma, and resonances of the probe impedance are studied. We observed two resonances in a frequency range between the sheath-plasma resonance and the plasma frequencies are observed. A mechanism of the additional resonances is discussed. It is shown that finite electron temperature introduces resonances in addition to the sheath-plasma resonance. Choosing some artificial density distributions in front of the probe, the frequency dependence of the resonances is explained qualitatively. (Author)
