CHARGED COLLOIDAL SIZED PARTICLES FOR PROPULSION.

Abstract

The report deals with parametric studies of the spraying of colloidal charged particles from a capillary. Both dc and ac sources were used. The main conclusion is that the thrust levels from colloidal systems are rising whereas the demands for thrust in many missions such as satellite attitude control, orbit maintenance, etc. are falling. The implication is that the colloid system shows more promise than it was originally believed to possess for use in such missions. (Author)
