TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT IN SHOCK HEATED GASES.

Abstract

This paper describes the techniques being adopted in the measurement of absolute line intensities for neutral atoms of iron, lead, and tin. Particular attention is paid to the problem of temperature measurement in the shock tube, and a method is described which gives satisfactory results in the range 4000-6000K. (Author)
