COMPARISON OF THEORY AND OBSERVATION IN GENERAL RELATIVITY,

Abstract

The report consists of an abbreviated version of two lectures whose purpose was: (a) to stress the care that must be taken in comparing predictions of general relativity with observations; and (b) to describe a quantitative method for determining the extent to which one particular but important aspect of the theory is being tested.
