ULTRASTRUCTURE OF SKELETAL TISSUES.

Abstract

The three-dimensional arrangement of the apatite crystallites in dental enamel has been determined by a new versatile x-ray diffraction camera. The results obtained served as a basis for the evaluation of the optical properties of this tissue. New aspects on the polarized light image of dental enamel are given. The state of water was investigated by polarized light microscopy. The mode of flouride fixation has also been studied. (Author)
