ON SOME PREDICTED AND OBSERVED FEATURES OF QUASI-STELLAR SOURCES,

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to correlate or explain some observed features of quasi-stellar sources in a way that enables one to predict with simple models: (a) the relative strengths of the Lyman lines (np > ls transitions in hydrogen) that may be observed and (b) the optical depth of the nebulae beyond the Lyman continuum (hv > 13.6 eV).
