SYNTHESIS AND POLYMERIZATION OF FLUORINATED SULFUR MODIFIED NITROSO RUBBER
Abstract
Terpolymer samples containing 3 and 6 mole percent ONCF2CF2CO2CH3 with CF3NO and CF2=CF2 were prepared. A larger amount (280 g.) of 1,1,2-trifluorobutadiene terpolymer with CF3NO and CF2=CF2 was prepared. Terpolymers of CF2=CFCF2NO, CF2=CFCH2CF2CF2CH2CF=CF2 and ONCF2CF2CF2COOH with CF3NO and CF2=CF2 were prepared. Attempted copolymerization of carbonyl fluoride and hexafluoroacetone with CF3NO was unsuccessful. A 2-1. reactor equipped with stirrer and cooling coils has been procured and is being fitted with a refrigeration system.
