COMPUTER PROGRAM AND DESIGN VALUES.

Abstract

A 1620 IBM computer program was written in FORTRAN to determine the ultimate load for concentrically loaded, concrete, long piles. The piles were of three basic cross sections: circular, octagonal, and square. The theoretical evaluation of the ultimate load was made by using the tangent modulus in the generalized Euler formula, as originally presented in AD-258 262. Presented in this supplement are the computer program and the computer results in the form of tables giving the ultimate load for various column slenderness ratios. (Author)
