MULTICORRELATOR ANALYSIS: THE EFFECT OF 'CENTER CLIPPING'.

Abstract

The effect of adding a symmetrical bias to a previously proposed system of detecting a signal in noise is analyzed. The analysis is facilitated by the use of a proposed figure of merit for detecting signals in noise. In general, the effect of a given bias appears to increase the detectability for high signal to noise ratios, and to decrease it for small signal to noise ratios. Details are given in a number of curves and tables. (Author)
