ON THE SYMMETRY GROUPS OF SIMPLE MATERIALS - AN APPLICATION OF THE THEORY OF LIE GROUPS.
Abstract
The main purpose of this paper is to point out that the symmetry group of a simple material is a Lie subgroup of the unimodular group. The classification of symmetry groups and the determination of representation formulae for objective response functions can be established by the application of the theory of Lie groups. (Author)
