ANTENNA POINTING REQUIREMENTS FOR SATELLITE TRACKING.

Abstract

In order to determine the satellite tracking capability of an azimuth-elevation antenna mount, a simplified model for satellite motion is presented. Satellite azimuth and elevation positional equations versus time are derived and the results of a computer program to determine velocity and acceleration are presented in both tabular and graphical forms. In terms of the results obtained the satellite tracking performance of the AFCRL 29-Foot Millimeter Wave Antenna is evaluated. (Author)
