CIVIL AVIATION IN COMMUNIST CHINA SINCE 1949,

Abstract

A description of the development of both transport and specialized aviation (crop-dusting, fire patrols, express, etc.) since the Communist takeover. It includes discussions on organization, international and domestic routes and services, equipment, and civil aircraft manufacturing and purchases. It concludes that, while all services are grossly inadequate to serve China's huge land mass and population, the foundations have been laid for what appears to be a workable organization that can continue to grow as resources permit and special needs demand.
