HIGH ENERGY SYSTEM (ORGANIC ELECTROLYTE)

Abstract

The study of high energy density systems included: continued investigation of new electrolyte solvents; corrosion and solubility studies of cathode and anode materials in various electrolytes; a study of the reversibility of glass electrodes in non-aqueous electrolytes; continued efforts to optimize CuF2 cathode performance; a study of the effect of electrolyte concentration and discharge current density on cathode performance; lithium anode storage tests; evaluation of various separator materials; construction and testing of Li-CuF2 cells in lightweight polyethylene cases.
