KINETICS OF THE ELECTROCHEMICAL REDUCTION OF OXYGEN,

Abstract

It was confirmed that cathode reduction of oxygen in alkaline solutions on silver, unlike mercury, is connected with electrochemical polarization. The cathode reduction of oxygen was investigated at different pressures in acid and alkaline solutions on smooth and platinized platinum and palladium. The reduction of oxygen on platinum is limited by the purely chemical stage of the process. (Author)
