SYNTHESIS AND POLYMERIZATION OF FLUORINATED SULFUR MODIFIED NITROSO RUBBER

Abstract

Tetrafluoroallene was prepared and terpolymerized with CF3NO/CF2=CF2. Additional samples of methyl gamma-nitrosoperfluorobutyrate were prepared and polymerized with CF3NO/CF2=CF2. Several unsuccessful attempts were made to cross-link terpolymers containing CF2=CFBr, CF2=CFCF=CF2, C6F5NO, CF2=C=CF2 and CF2=CFCH=CH2. A low temperature polymerization unit was installed and is now in operation.
