A FORECAST OF ADVANCES IN THE APPAREL MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.

Abstract

A general technological survey and short range forecast of probable garment fabrication techniques and apparel industry operations was undertaken. The investigation revealed that over the next five years significant improvements in the productivity and in the management functions of the industry will develop. It appears that the impact of these developments will result in more rapid and more mechanized output of the same type of clothing generally available today, rather than in completely new types of apparel.
