THE THEORY OF THE RADIATION PATTERS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC HORNS.

Abstract

In this thesis an analysis is made of the radiation patterns produced by electromagnetic wave guides and horns of variously shaped cross sections. The theoretical approach is based on the concept of equivalent electric and magnetic surface currents, and it explores a method that has been suggested by S. A. Schelkunoff. No attempt is made to develop design formulae since they are adequately known from empirical data.
