DIGITAL COMPUTER SIMULATION OF BALLISTICALLY OPERATED HIGH-LOW SYSTEMS.

Abstract

The report presents a digital computer simulation of the performance of high-low propellant actuated devices. The equations describing these devices are presented and solved simultaneously by 4th order Runge Kutta methods programmed in Fortran for the Univac Solid State 90 digital computer. The computer program, its input-output formats, and a comparison between experimental and computed performance are also presented. The results of this comparison indicate that this program adequately simulates the performance of ballistically operated high-low devices and, therefore, may be used as an efficient tool to aid in their design and in the estimation of their performance.
